Sips By Review – Monthly Tea Subscription Box | January 2019

I came across Sips By while I was on a hunt for a tea subscription box. I wanted to find a subscription box that would allow me to try a variety of teas and to expand my collection. The great thing about Sips By is that they create a personalized box based on your preferences. When you first sign up, you are asked to fill out a questionnaire that helps them figure out what kind of tea to include in your box. The questionnaire asks about what flavors you would like to try, how much caffeine you prefer, what types of teas and more. After filling out the questionnaire, I was ready to place an order for my first box. A week later, I received the box in the mail.

Details about the box: $15 a month, 4 teas

Teas I Received for January 2019

When I first open the box, I see a card that has my name on it (pretty neat!) The card gives you details on all the teas you receive for the month. The box also includes disposable tea bags which is great for any loose leaf teas.

Fireside Spice – Tiesta Tea

This tea is very aromatic and you can smell a strong cinnamon scent once you open the bag. When brewed, the tea becomes a rich red color. I find the taste to be quite pleasant. It has a fruity taste when you first sip it, and then you get a cinnamon after taste. This is a very enjoyable tea, and I was pleasantly surprised. It is caffeine free so it is a great tea to have in the afternoon or before bed time.

2018 Smooth Cocoa Minis – White2Tea

This tea is a pu’er tea, and I’ll be honest, I don’t usually drink pu’er teas and have not had any in a long while. It is difficult to describe this tea, but I would say that it has a very earthy scent and taste. I find the tea to be quite smooth, and it feels good to drink it on a cold day.

Organic Assam Black Tea – Mana Organics

This black tea had a nice smooth and refreshing flavor. I realized most of the black teas I have include different flavors, but this one is a nice simple and pure black tea. I enjoy this tea, and it is a great tea for the mornings since it includes caffeine in it.

Blue Lady Black – Zest Tea

I was excited to receive this tea. I really enjoyed trying their Pomegranate Mojito blend (you can read my review about it here), so this gave me an opportunity to try another one of their blends. Personally, I feel like Zest Tea gives you a good amount of caffeine and is a great alternative to coffee. The taste of this tea was pretty nice, tasting rather fruity and sweet.

Conclusion

Overall, I am pretty happy about my box, and I like being able to try teas from brands I have not heard of before. I cannot wait to try next month’s box.

I would love to hear about your experiences with Sips by and what teas you have received. Please feel free to let me know in the comments below!

Please note: I was not paid to write this review. I bought this product with my own money and the review is based off my own honest opinion. However, I do have a referral link here. If you do use this link, you can get $5 off your first box it would just help me get some points towards a free box. Thanks for reading and for your support!

I am a huge fan of the Sips By subscription service, I stopped my subscription last summer, because I already have a huge collection and was getting new boxes before I even finished teas from previous boxes. But I definitely hope to re-subscribe again sometime this year! I really like the attention to detail, and how you can retake the initial quiz if your preferences ever change.
